ROBBIE BOURDON & RICHIE SCHLEY IN PERU

Last October we had the pleasure to ride with top freeriders Robbie Bourdon & Richie Schley. They came to Peru to film a mountain bike documental that is going to be shown in Australia, Asia, Europe, Africa and America. Be patient because you will see this documental soon in your TV.

We have just finished an incredible 25 days tour with two recognized mountain bike instructors from Canada, an amazing girl from Whistler, an Engeneer from the Ferrari F1 Team and also the 2006 World Master Downhill Champion, Lorraine Blancher; now we are going to ride 10 more days with Robbie Bourdon & Richie Schley, I think we are now prepared for the action!

The first day we made a "warm-up" on the downhill trails in Pachacamac. That place is our racing field where we have built some good and big jumps. But this was not enough for Robbie and Richie. They simply made every jump like an old and repetitive track. Inmediately I noticed the skills of the pro freeriders and I thought that I have to show also my skills on the next days.

The two next days we went to the Andes near Lima to ride the famous Olleros downhill trail with more than 3,500 meters of vertical descent and also the Marcahuasi downhill trail that starts at 4,000 masl and it's one of our most demanding trails in Peru. The first day on the Andes and Robbie and Richie were amazed by the landscape. I think they never saw really big mountains that ends on the ocean. "This is one of the best rides I've ever made" replied Richie Schley.

Before we start the descent we were already late because of all the filming in Lima and the interviews. At the top of the Andes we had only the time to descend fast until we reach the ocean with the last light of the day. Robbie hit his back disc and we spent almost one hour until we decided to leave him without his rear brake. Fortunately we didn't had any other trouble on the ride and we reached the ocean 15 minutes passed the sunset! That was close I said to Robbie and Richie!

The next day we went to Marcahuasi and after my partner from Sacred Rides gave a donation of 4 bikes, we started climbing to the top with the assistance of horses and porters.

Now that we are in Marcahuasi almost at the top of the Mountains, where the air is thin and the ideas always are affected by the altitude, Robbie had an idea to build a big jump. Inmediately I joined all the porters and we start making the jump for Robbie. Our first attempt was rejected by Robbie so we had to make it again. Finally our second attempt was approved and we started jumping and shooting pictures for the magazines.

Then we went to Cusco and the riding got even better. We made some downhill trails near Cusco and we found great jumps. There is a special jump in the Yuncaypata trail that we all had a blast there. For me I think was the biggest jump I've ever made on a mountain bike. For Robbie and Richie maybe was another day with their mountain bikes. The fact that made me happy was that I was the first to jump, almost crashing on the landing but I was the first one!

The next days in Cusco Robbie and Richie simply surprised me. They start looking outside the trails to find big gaps and big jumps. By then I was only watching them and taking more pictures for my album.

I don't want to talk about the last day in Cusco or the last night in Cusco but all the time Cusco offers the best parties with people from all over the world. We were celebrating a great trip and we walked through all the bars in Cusco that night.
