TESTIMONIALES In the Press

Christopher Montigny.  Santa Barbara, USA
Peru is a top destination for all adventures and outings in nature.  Mountain biking there is simply top notch.  The trails are endless and the mountains are massive.  There is something for all abilities.  If you happen to fall in the expert class the trails are sure to impress as they can be as steep, technical and fast as you desire.  But it is the type of place that you don't want to try to figure out on your own; it is just way too big.  Let Wayo and his crew hook you up with some of the world’s best riding in some of the most beautiful places on earth.  Wayo's experience as a rider is world class and his knowledge of the Peruvian trails, as a local who has been riding there for years, is hard to match.  I really enjoyed being out in the middle of nowhere and taking on these amazing trails.  Also, the Sacred Valley rides were inspiring.  If I could do it all over again, I would call Wayo with Inka Adventures.  And PS, the food in Peru rocks!

If you go to Peru there's only one guy to call, Wayo, who owns www.inkasadventures.com. He knows all the good trails and is fast as hell. Without him, we wouldn't have had the trip we did.  He showed us some really remote downhill sections of the Inca Trail we would have never found.

My tour with Wayo was probably the best mountain-bike adventure of my life! The itinerary allowed us to immerse ourselves in the Andean culture while riding incredible trails amid jaw-dropping scenery. If you love travelling and mountain biking, you have to do this trip. It was a once-in-a-lifetime adventure that I can't wait to come back and experience again.

My mountain bike experience of last May in Peru with Inkas Adventures was really awesome, as I knew Wayo from my biking friends here in Chile and we had the chance to visit him and the rest of the Peruvian riders in Lima a couple of years ago, as well as to receive them here in Chile, I knew that was the best way to spent that little free time I had out of work.  Not only the places and biking routes are amazing, it's the people that makes the difference between a good ride and the best of your life.  That's right, having a top level mountain biking guide is all you expect to make it special, to try to catch up the guide all the way.  By the other hand, going around that wonderful places with local riders get you to know deeper the people, their traditions and way of life, even to learn some Quechua language!!!
Well, all I can say is that I can't wait to have another chance to get some more Inkas Adventures mountain biking tours.
Keep on riding!!

Thank you for providing the great ride in the Lares Valley, it was a great day.  The ride was a little bit above my skill level but it was great for my son.  Russo had the patience of a saint and waited time and time again for me.  My son James said the ride was the highlight of our trip so I have no regrets.  Russo was great at taking pictures without any prompting from us.  James particularly liked the downhill section at the end of the ride.

It shares borders with Ecuador (N), Colombia (NE), Brazil (E), Bolivia (SE) and Chile (S). The West side, limits with the Pacific Ocean and it's the main border measuring a total length of 3,079.5 Km. There are four major natural regions: the 200 miles of the Peruvian Sea, a narrow coastal strip, the high Andes Mountains and the vast and plain Amazon Basin. In the Coast or "Costa", is settled the biggest part of the population and the major cities like Lima and Trujillo. It's mainly a desert area that is crossed by valleys of more than 40 rivers that run down from the western Andes. This makes the coast an important region for advanced agriculture. It was the stage of the main pre-Inca cultures. The main products are cotton, rice, sugar, fruits, wine, Pisco and metallic minerals. The Andes Mountains or "Sierra" is the high region that goes from 2,000 meters to 6,768 meters above sea level with the Huascaran Mountain as its highest summit. It is divided in two main ranges: the Occidental Mountain Chain and the Oriental Mountain Chain. The Andean area has an average altitude of 3,000 meters and is full of plateaus, mountains, glaciers, valleys, canyons and rivers. The Andes is a hard place, but offers one of the best sceneries in the world for traveling and practicing sports. The main products on that area are potatoes, cereals and vegetables, and activities like cattle-raising, mining and weaving. Nowadays tourism is becoming an important activity on the area. The Amazon Basin or "Selva" comes down from the eastern slopes of the Andes (2,000 to 84 meters) and covers more than 60% of the country's area with rainforest. It's a tropical and almost uninhabited zone (no more than 5% of total population) with the most biodiversity jungle and full-flowing rivers in the world. In the dense forest there is an explosion of life conformed by thousands of species of flora and fauna, most of them, unknown until today. The "Amazonia" is drained by the three biggest rivers: Marañon, Huallaga and Ucayali that together gives birth to the Amazonas River, some kilometers before Iquitos city and considered the largest river on the world and the one that delivers more water into the ocean. Wood is the principal product, as well as rubber, rice, fruits, coffee, tea, petroleum and natural gas. Peru is part of this group of twelve countries called "megadiverse", because all of them contain between 60-70% of all the biological diversity of our planet. And that is a good reason to travel and discover the secrets of nature hidden in the vast and plentiful rainforest, the freezy but beautiful Andean highlands, the dry but fertile coast belt; and the richest sea of the world, the Peruvian Sea region. Most of our tours require a good physical and technical condition. As far as the rating level goes, the more physical condition you will need. We use the same classification that rafters use in their sport, so it is easy to understand the level on each tour. LEVEL 1: This level means that no physical requirement is needed. Anyone can take this type of tour. As our tours are for adventurers, we don't offer any tour with this classification. LEVEL 2: This level means that a little physical activity is involved on the tour. Maybe walk through Inca sites, bike short and easy sections or raft on easy rivers will be required. No technical requirement is needed on this level. This level is suitable for almost any person. LEVEL 3: This level requires some knowledge and practice of the activity involved. You know that your skills are good enough and with some tips you will beat any trail. It can include mountain biking, motorcycling, rafting or kayaking adventures. LEVEL 4: This level is for experts only. You need to have strong skills on the activities involved. Almost all the time you will be challenged by rough conditions on the trails. You will need also a good physical condition to beat any steep climb. LEVEL 5: Just a few persons can make these tours. You need to have proven hi-level conditions to get into these tours. Accommodations We have established for our tours three star hotels in which our clients can get a comfortable room and good accommodations at an affordable price. On some of our tours that include camping, we will provide two person tents and sleeping pads. We also will provide all the meals during the camping to ensure a comfortable stay on the outdoors.
