Beyond the Ordinary. Into the Heart of the Andes.
Peru is one of the most extraordinary destinations in the world for E-Mountain Biking. The Andes offer an endless playground of towering snowcapped peaks, massive glaciers, colorful mountains, remote valleys, and ancient trails that have connected communities for centuries.
But what makes our 10-Day E-Bike Epic truly special is the freedom to explore these incredible landscapes in a completely different way.
E-Mountain Bikes change the possibilities of mountain exploration.
With the extra assistance of an electric motor, we can climb higher, travel farther, and venture deeper into the mountains without exhausting ourselves on every ascent. This allows us to enjoy longer adventures, discover hidden trails, and reach spectacular places that would otherwise demand an enormous physical effort.
From the historic surroundings of Cusco and the Sacred Valley to the remote wilderness of Ausangate and Rainbow Mountain, every day brings a completely different experience.
Imagine riding beneath enormous glaciers, crossing vast high-altitude valleys, following ancient mountain paths, and discovering landscapes where the only sounds are the wind, flowing rivers, and the occasional herd of alpacas grazing in the distance.
These are not ordinary tourist routes.
Many of the trails we explore have been used for generations by local communities traveling between villages, agricultural fields, and remote mountain pastures. They are natural, authentic, and constantly shaped by the elements.
And the adventure goes far beyond mountain biking.
The Peruvian Andes are home to communities that have preserved their traditions, languages, and close relationship with the land for generations. As we ride through these remote regions, we experience a side of Peru that most visitors never get to see.
We may encounter local farmers tending their fields, shepherds guiding their alpacas across the mountains, or families living in small traditional villages surrounded by breathtaking scenery.
These unexpected encounters often become some of the most memorable moments of the journey.
For us at Inkas Adventures, mountain biking has always been about exploration. We have spent decades discovering trails, connecting remote valleys, and searching for new adventures throughout Peru.
Now, with E-MTB technology, we can take that passion for exploration even further.
This is more than a 10-day mountain bike tour.
It’s a journey into the wild heart of the Andes, where every climb opens the door to a new discovery and every trail tells a story.
Ride farther. Explore deeper. Experience the real Peru.

Today, we’ll explore one of the most spectacular valleys in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, combining ancient trails, traditional Andean communities, fascinating history, and incredible E-MTB riding.
We’ll leave our hotel in Urubamba and drive through Ollantaytambo into the mountains, reaching approximately 4,350 meters, where our adventure begins.

The valley is rich in history. Its ancient trails were used by the Incas during their resistance against the Spanish conquest. Today, it is home to Willoq and Patacancha, two traditional Andean communities where Quechua culture and ancestral customs remain very much alive.

Frequently Asked Questions
What you should bring?
You’re coming to ride in some of the most remote and spectacular areas of Peru, where bike shops and spare parts may be unavailable or very limited. Being properly prepared can make a big difference during your trip.
Prepare Your Bike Before the Trip
Before traveling to Peru, we strongly recommend having your bike thoroughly cleaned, inspected, and serviced.
Check all components for wear and make sure everything is working properly, especially your brakes, drivetrain, suspension, and wheels.
Pay particular attention to:
- Chain
- Brake pads
- Cables and housings
- Tires
- Brake and shifting systems
- Suspension
- Bearings and other worn components
If any component is close to the end of its service life, replace it before your trip. It is much easier to deal with maintenance at home than on a remote mountain trail.
Tires & Tubeless Setup
We recommend bringing new or nearly new tires suitable for technical mountain terrain. For most of our rides, we recommend tires around 2.40–2.50″ wide with good sidewall protection, such as Maxxis tires with EXO, DD, DH or equivalent protection.
A tubeless setup is strongly recommended.
If you already use tubeless tires, check that your sealant is fresh and has not dried out before your trip. We also recommend carrying a spare tube even if you ride tubeless.
Spare Parts & Tools
We carry a selection of common bike parts and tools on our tours, but some components are specific to each bike and can be difficult to find in Peru.
We strongly recommend bringing the following:
- 1 spare derailleur hanger specific to your bike
- 2 sets of brake pads
- 2 spare inner tubes, even if you use tubeless
- Tire patches and a pump
- Tubeless repair plugs and a tubeless tool
- A bike multi-tool
- Any special tools required for your particular bike
- Other bike-specific spare parts you may need
If your bike uses a proprietary component or unusual standard, bring a spare whenever possible.
Riding Gear
For the riding itself, we recommend bringing:
- Helmet, gloves, and riding glasses
- Full-face helmet — optional, but recommended for more technical Downhill and Enduro rides
- Knee pads
- Elbow pads — optional
- Two pairs of riding shoes
- At least four sets of riding clothes
- Small backpack or hydration pack with a water reservoir
- Waterproof rain jacket
- Lightweight thermal jacket for colder mountain temperatures
- Headlamp or bike light
- Sunblock — SPF 50 or higher
- Insect repellent
Your backpack should have enough space for the essentials you may need during the day, including water, food, basic tools, an extra layer, and your rain jacket.
Be Ready for Changing Conditions
Peru’s mountains can take you through dramatic changes in altitude, temperature, weather, and terrain, sometimes during the same ride.
A warm, sunny morning can turn into cold, windy, or rainy conditions at higher elevations. Being prepared with the right clothing and equipment will allow you to enjoy the ride comfortably and safely.
Come prepared. We’ll take care of the rest—and get you riding
Do I need to bring my own E-MTB?
No! Inkas Adventures provides high-quality, full-suspension E-Mountain Bikes for our E-Bike Epic Tour.
We have Santa Cruz, Giant, and Specialized E-MTBs, equipped with long-range batteries to handle the demanding climbs and spectacular high-altitude trails of the Peruvian Andes.
Since transporting E-Bikes on international flights is generally not possible due to airline lithium battery restrictions, you don’t need to worry about bringing your own bike.
Just bring your riding gear and get ready for an unforgettable E-Mountain Bike adventure in Peru!
How is the accommodation managed for this tour?
For our tours, we carefully select comfortable three-star hotels where you can relax and recover after a day on the trails. We look for quiet, comfortable rooms in convenient locations, ideally close to the main attractions, restaurants, and services you may want to enjoy during your stay.
In some destinations, we choose hotels outside the city because they offer something special—unique character, beautiful surroundings, or a more authentic experience that fits the adventure.
Camping Nights
Some of our tours also include camping in remote areas, allowing us to spend the night closer to the trails and experience the mountains in a completely different way.
When camping is included, we provide four-person tents for two people, giving you plenty of space and comfort, along with mattresses and sleeping bags suitable for cold mountain conditions.
We also provide all meals during camping nights, including dinner and breakfast, so you can relax and enjoy the experience without having to worry about carrying or preparing your own food.
Whether you are staying in a comfortable hotel or camping under the stars, we make sure you have a good place to rest and recharge for the next day’s adventure.
Why you should ride with us?
We Are Locals
There is something special about riding with people who know the mountains from the saddle.
We know the trails, the terrain, the communities, and the conditions. We know where to ride, how to adapt the routes to different levels, and how to find the lines that make each trail fun.
Most importantly, we are here. We ride these mountains ourselves.
We Are Professional Mountain Bikers
Mountain biking isn’t just our business—it is our passion and our way of life.
Our team has decades of experience riding and racing in Peru, with more than 14 Peruvian National Championship titles across XC and Downhill, as well as podium results at the Pan-American Championships and the UCI Masters World Championships.
Our experience goes beyond racing. We spend our time riding, exploring, discovering new trails, and constantly improving our knowledge of the mountains.
You ride with people who truly understand mountain biking.
We Are Constantly Exploring
We don’t simply ride the same routes over and over again.
We are constantly searching for new trails, ancient paths, forgotten roads, new connections, and new lines throughout Peru.
Some of the routes we ride are trails we have discovered and developed ourselves. This spirit of exploration allows us to create experiences that go beyond the standard tourist routes.
Come ride the Peru we know—not just the Peru everyone else rides.
We Practice Sustainable Tourism
Responsible and sustainable tourism is one of our core principles.
We work closely with local communities, businesses, and individuals to create tourism opportunities that contribute to local economies while respecting the environment and local culture.
We believe that riding through these communities is a privilege. We respect the people, traditions, landscapes, and places where we operate, and we strive to minimize our environmental and cultural impact.
Your Safety Comes First
Mountain biking in Peru can take you into remote and challenging environments, so preparation and safety are essential.
Our guides have training in Wilderness First Aid and CPR, and we carry essential safety and communication equipment on our trips. On selected remote routes, we also have access to satellite communication and maintain connections with emergency and evacuation services when available.
Our vehicles, bikes, tools, and safety equipment are carefully prepared for the conditions we encounter on the trails.
We cannot eliminate the inherent risks of mountain biking, but we take preparation, safety, and emergency response seriously.
Ride a Bike Built for the Trails
When you choose one of our bike-supported programs, you can ride a Pivot Mach 6 mountain bike, with sizes available to accommodate different riders.
The Mach 6 is designed for the kind of terrain we ride in Peru, including technical singletrack, rocky descents, steep terrain, natural obstacles, and long mountain adventures.
We take care of the bike so you can focus on the riding.
We Know Where to Eat
Peru is famous around the world for its incredible cuisine—and we know where to find it.
Food is an important part of our trips. From local dishes and traditional Andean food to some of the outstanding restaurants in Cusco and other destinations, we want you to experience Peru through its flavors as well as its trails.
We also provide quality snacks and refreshments during our rides, helping you keep your energy up throughout the day.
Because after a big day of riding, good food tastes even better.
Ride With People Who Love What They Do
At the end of the day, this is what Inkas Adventures is all about.
We are riders. We love exploring. We love finding new trails. We love sharing Peru with other mountain bikers.
And when you ride with us, you don’t just come to Peru to ride a bike—you come to experience Peru the way we know it.
Ride with locals. Ride with racers. Explore beyond the usual trails. Discover Peru from the saddle.
