You don't have to be a Downhill racer or an experienced Enduro rider to experience Peru from the saddle. If you enjoy riding, exploring, being outdoors, and discovering spectacular places, Explorer is for you.
Our Explorer adventures are about the journey as much as the riding. We combine enjoyable cycling with incredible landscapes, local culture, history, wildlife, and the feeling of traveling through places that most visitors never experience by bicycle.
One of our most spectacular Explorer adventures takes you from Cusco toward the Amazon, crossing an incredible sequence of landscapes and ecosystems as you descend from the Andes into the jungle.
Along the way, we ride through changing environments and visit fascinating places connected to Peru's history and culture. Depending on the program, you can discover ancient Inca sites, historic Spanish churches, traditional villages, agricultural areas, and wildlife and animal protection centers deep in the jungle.
The landscape changes dramatically as we descend.
High Andean mountains gradually give way to greener valleys, cloud forests, and eventually the warm and lush Amazon rainforest. In a single journey, you can experience an incredible variety of climates, vegetation, cultures, and landscapes—all from the seat of your bike.
One of the most rewarding parts of the journey is passing through small rural communities along the route.
In these areas, agriculture remains an important part of everyday life. Depending on the route and season, you may see communities producing coffee, tea, coca, fruit, and other crops, while learning how people live and work in these remote valleys.
These encounters are an important part of the experience. We believe that traveling by bicycle gives you more opportunities to slow down, meet people, and experience places beyond the usual tourist routes.
As we continue toward the lowlands, the environment changes once again.
The cool Andean air gives way to a warmer, greener world filled with rivers, waterfalls, dense vegetation, and incredible biodiversity.
The journey can take us toward the Manu region, one of the most biodiverse areas of Peru, where the Andes meet the Amazon.
The area protects an extraordinary variety of ecosystems, including Andean grasslands, cloud forests, and lowland tropical rainforest, creating habitats for an incredible diversity of plants and wildlife.
With some luck, you may encounter monkeys, colorful birds, butterflies, and other wildlife along the way. The Amazon is always full of surprises.
Explorer is not about how fast you can descend or how technical a trail is.
It is about seeing more, going farther, and experiencing Peru at the pace of a bicycle.
Some sections may be on dirt roads, quiet rural roads, easy trails, or scenic paths. There will be climbs, but the focus is on enjoying the journey rather than racing against the mountain.
We adapt the route and pace to the group, making the experience accessible to enthusiastic cyclists who are comfortable spending several hours on a bike but may have limited mountain biking or technical riding experience.
